Lab Facilities

 

Hardware
The COBA Collegiate Computer Labs maintains a number of computing facilities for use by students, faculty and staff. Each microcomputer-lab is equipped with multi-media equipment including, ceiling mounted computer projectors, surround sound speakers, and electronic screens. Seven additional media rooms are located on the second and third floors.  These facilities collectively have a total of 122 personal computers and are located in the College of Business Administration, rooms 110, 108, 107 (print room/Lab Assistants’ desk), 106, 105, and 103.  Each microcomputer-lab is equipped with multi-media equipment including, ceiling mounted computer projectors, surround sound speakers, and electronic screens. Seven additional media rooms are located on the second and third floors. Lab Assistants are on duty to provide hardware and software support for users within the College. The rooms and their detailed configurations are listed below.

Software
Numerous word processing, database, spreadsheets, web development tools, graphic packages, internet browsers, and mainframe emulators are available for classroom or general usage. The Microsoft 2007 Office Suite Suite is among the popular choices for teaching purposes.

ROOMS 110, 106, 108
These are the main rooms utilized for classroom teaching along with room 103. When class is not in session, Room 106 is the main room open for general usage.

ROOM 103
This room is utilized for the upper level CIS courses and includes 21 computers, Dell Model Optiplex 280. These computers have 3.0GHz Processors and 2GB of RAM providing optimal performance for programming.

ROOM 105
This room is utilized for general usage and includes 21 computers, Gateway Model E4500D. These computers have 3.0GHz Processors and 1GB of RAM.
