Accounting & Finance Mission Statement
The Mission of the Accounting and Finance Department is to
prepare its graduates for life-long learning, to enter the business world in
diverse capacities: accounting positions in government, industry and
public accounting and finance/financing positions in securities markets,
banking, real-estate, insurance, etc., and as entrepreneurs in the field of
choice and further academic training in graduate programs.
Programs offered at the bachelor's and master's levels
expose accounting and finance majors to the facets of international business and
professional ethics. Student preparation includes an excellent teaching
staff, coaching the students in the knowledge and skills requisite for the
business world including development of critical thinking, effective oral and
written communication, problem solving, teamwork and use of information
technology as tools which enables the graduates to be successful entrants in
their respective accounting/finance professions.
Interacting with business, governmental agencies,
professional groups and community service are constant commitments of the
faculty.
