Congratulations to Ms. Romisa
Hill and Mr. Joshua Yelder.
They were awarded with the
2010 scholarship from the
Montgomery Chapter of
AFCEA (Armed Forces
Communication and
Electronics Association).
The Montgomery AFCEA Chapter
is the premiere information
technology organization in
the River Region. The
members work hard to create
a positive impact in the
Montgomery area by raising
funds that are used for
individual scholarships and
internships, technology
grants to local schools, and
investment in regional
initiatives to help build a
world class technical
workforce. They also enjoy
networking opportunities
with Montgomery industry,
military and academic
leaders at our events and
Chapter meetings. Many of
our members also take
advantage of the numerous
leadership opportunities
within the Chapter
management structure,
experiencing great personal
satisfaction and unmatched
professional and career
development.
They provided a $6,400
scholarship for each of them
to continue their studies in
Computer Information Systems
at Alabama State University.

Lowry is a Senior Advisor to
The Boston Consulting Group
(BCG). Previously, a Senior
Vice President at BCG and
Global Diversity Director,
Jim led the firm’s workforce
diversity, ethnic marketing,
and minority business
development consulting
practice.
. He is
presently a member of the
Howard School of Business
board, serves as Chairman
for the Howard University
Entrepreneurship Center,
Chairman of the Executive
Network of the RLJ Equity
Fund, and a Member of Toyota
Diversity Advisory Board.
He was a member of the
Chicago Council of Foreign
Relations, Harvard Business
School Visiting Committee
and co-host of
MBR: THE MINORITY BUSINESS
REPORT
and co-host of the
Inside Bedford Stuyvesant
TV show. He spoke to
COBA Students about
entrepreneurship and how
they can grow their own
businesses in a more diverse
world.
